The Farmhouse, circa 1750 |
Montpelier represents nearly three hundred years of continuous Tidewater farming. Today's farm carries on that tradition by utilizing sustainable land management, heirloom livestock and seed. A Georgian house dated to 1750 anchors the remaining 112 acres of rolling pastures, level fields, ancient springs and James River watershed. The current stewards brought a love of history, food and conservation to help return this cultural gem to its agricultural roots.
